Bible Study/Discipleship Ministry
At Cross of Life Church we are seeking to build faith communities by becoming committed followers of Christ Jesus. We believe in order to be a committed follower of Christ Jesus you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18).
Our Thursday night studies are an intimate time in a small group setting to learn how to properly examine the Scriptures and apply them in a current and relevant way. We are committed to teaching believers how to study the Word of God for themselves using the Scriptures alone, so that each believer may "do [his] best to present [himself] to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth" (II Timothy 2:15).
Though our study correlates with our church study of the book of Genesis, it is open weekly for new members. Our study is designed to disciple people as they become followers of Christ and is an interactive study between those who have studied and want to participate.
Our studies are divided into male and female groups, ages teen to adult to foster intimacy and relevant sharing. Women's and Men's groups meet at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday evening.

Children's Ministry

Rebecca Till, Children's Ministry Coordinator
At Cross of Life we want to train children to know who God is and what their relationship is to Him, to equip children to love God and to be able to apply His Word to every part of their lives, and to be able to confidently share their faith with others.
We are geared for ages 0-12. All of our teachers have submitted to a background check, are members in good standing with our church, and are regularly committed to our fellowship. Parents are free to keep their child with them during the service or bring them to the children's program. We rely on the parents to make the best choices for their children.
Our program includes a combination of a Bible story and corresponding activity or craft for reinforcement, song time, verse memory work, free play, and snack time. Because of the later hour of our services, our snack is a light dinner consisting of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit, crackers, and water to drink. Parents are encouraged to keep sippy cups, personal toys, etc. with them during the service as our setup does not provide ample room to keep track of these things.
During the summer months, we make use of the playground outside for free play. Bug repellent is recommended (though not provided) for those children who are sensitive to bug bites such as mosquitoes, etc.
On the fifth Saturday of any month (usually March, June, September, and December), Cross of Life holds a church wide "Children's Service." This is a time for families to worship together corporately through songs appropriate for all ages, a story (often told by puppets or through drama), and a challenge by the pastor for all believers. Children take an active part in this service reciting memory verses, singing specials, or reenacting a Bible story. This service is usually an abbreviated service to allow for a dessert fellowship afterward.
It would be our honor to care for your child and partner with you as you "train up your child in the way he should go." (Proverbs 22:6)

Prayer Ministry
Our prayer ministry exists as one of the foundations of our ministry, and we believe it is vitally important to disciple believers in the discipline of prayer. Our church body gathers for prayer at 8:15 pm on Thursday nights in our main meeting area. Both men and women, teens through adults, are invited to join us.
The first few minutes of the meeting are spent reviewing requests and specific prayer needs for the week. Each person then sits, kneels, or is on his face before the Lord in a physical expression of worship. Our prayer time generally follows a sequence of worship of God, praise and thanksgiving for who God is and what He has done that week in our church body, confession of any sins or a time to cleanse your heart, and supplication for the needs of the church beginning with the pastoral leadership and elders, the needs of the body/inreach, seeking the Lord for outreach and evangelism, and finally provision. There is usually time at the end for personal needs to be prayed for as well.

The Worship Warriors
The Cross of Life Worship Team is an ensemble of vocalists and an accompanying keyboardist that leads the congregation in worship on a weekly basis. Our vision is to see a full band and choir develop from where God has us now.
We were created to worship in spirit and in truth. This worship occurs in song and everyday life. Worship is both a commitment and an experience. God longs to embrace us as we reach out to Him. The Cross of Life Worship Team is dedicated to seeing this happen in the lives of the people. This Praise team has developed a strong sensitivity to the Spirit of God. Are you Hungry for more of Him?

Our Commitment To You
As the youth ministry of Cross of Life Church, we realize the powerful influence of an adolescent's parents. Surveys and statics prove that you, the parents, carry more influence than anyone else. The influence is there for the good or the bad. The greatest influences on teens are not their peers, the youth pastor, a teacher, or some rock band. Some of you may be completely shocked to hear that. But it is true, even in the life of YOUR teen.
Here at Cross of Life Church, we are committed to assist you in discipling your teen for Christ. It is never appropriate for a youth ministry to undermine the authority of a parent that is submitted to the Word of God. We are not called to "parent" your teen, but it is our calling and mission to support your parenting in Christ. We will pray for you and with you, listen to you, and provide resources for you. May the anointing of the Holy Spirit rest on you during your "Great Adventure" of raising a teenager in the new millennium.
