Youth & Students
Cross of Life Church is committed to seeing young people pursue God in a passionate and purposeful way. Many students and young adults have discovered a new direction for their lives by solidifying their commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and growing in their newfound faith. Students and Young Adults play an important role at Cross of Life. Students are encouraged to study the Bible, serve the body of Christ, and develop the gifts and talents God has given them.
Our Philosophy of Youth Ministry
The youth at Cross of Life Church will find a different approach to "youth ministry" as it is known in churches today. As valued members, each young person is encouraged to participate fully in Bible Study, prayer, and service throughout all of the Thursday and Saturday activities. Jesus exhorted the Church to "go and make disciples" in Matthew 28:19-20.
Additionally, the Apostle Paul exhorted Titus to instruct the older men and women to teach and encourage the younger men and women in all facets of Godly living (Titus 2:1-8). In keeping with these models of discipleship and intergenerational teaching, as well as striving to avoid "artificial" social structures, Cross of Life continually seeks to foster authentic relationships among all believers.
While some activities of Cross of Life Church are designed to suit a younger person's tastes (flag football, roller skating, late night bowling, Rock the Universe, etc.), all of the church is always invited to these activities. In this way, COL avoids segregating members of the congregation based on age alone.
Friday nights are an important part of the COL youth ministry. All youth gather around 7:00 PM. Each week a different youth member will prepare a short Bible study (usually 15-30 minutes) to present at Friday night Bible Study. Those in attendance will then add comments or questions. In this way, students are encouraged not to just soak in the Word, but also be responsible for giving it out. You can always check the Calendar and Location pages to find where we will be meeting.
Come see what a difference it makes to learn about God as a family!!!
